BestWay Inn, 700 Clifty Drive, has opened a new safari-themed guest suite, the first of several planned fantasy suites.

The two-room suite features bamboo walls, thatched roofing and a glow-in-the-dark mosquito netting over the bed, as well as assorted wild animals. The suite includes a sleeping room, living room and kitchenette and is perfect for either a romantic getaway or a family fun weekend.

Mary Roudebush, who designed the room and created it with the help of Paula Handlon, said she was inspired to create a fantasy suite during Madison’s 2009 community branding process. She talked with general manager A.J. Mistry and got the go-ahead to create several one-of-a-kind rooms.

“This is a new experience for visitors to Madison,” said Mary. During January only, the safari suite can be reserved for $99 per night.
